As we were driving through the Nature Reserve we saw quite a few of these things, which looked like spider webs. I finally stopped out of curiosity and, on closer inspection, noticed a whole lot of caterpillars busily making their cocoon. They appear to nest together, but when I asked the Rangers they couldn't tell me any more about them.
